ABOUT ME

I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. As a preschooler, I drew on the walls of our house (sorry, Mom and Dad). Drawing and reading shaped my childhood, so it only makes sense that I found my way into the world of books and design. I studied graphic design in college, quickly fell in love with the entire creative process—color, texture, photography, composition, and the digital tools that bring ideas to life. Around the time I graduated (from ETSU with a bachelors in fine arts in graphic design), I also married my awesome wife, Jessica. We now have two kids (more on the fam below).

I was selected that same year as the summer graphic design intern for the NBA’s Washington Wizards gaining hands-on experience designing, photographing, and collaborating with seasoned creative teams. My first full-time graphic design-related position was the graphic designer and photographer at the historic Barter Theatre, creating everything from posters and billboards to programs and production photography. Today, I serve as Visual Arts & Marketing Director at Highlands Fellowship, where I’ve spent more than a decade leading creative work across design, marketing, and visual storytelling that points people to faith.

Along the way, I began partnering with authors to design book covers—and quickly realized I’d found my niche. What started as a single project grew into a passion for helping writers bring their stories to life through covers that are both eye-catching and strategic. By blending design, art, and marketing, I aim to create work that captures attention and helps books succeed. Every author relationship matters to me. If we’ve worked together, thank you—you mean more to me than you know. And if we haven’t met yet, I’d love to hear your story and create something incredible together.

THE FAM

My family is my everything—my crew. We do life together every day, trying to make the most of the simple moments: late-night Frosty runs to Wendy’s, to Sunday mornings at church followed by much-needed afternoon naps. I’ve been married to my wife Jessica for nearly fifteen years, and honestly, I can’t remember life before her. She’s the half that completes me, the one who brings calm and balance to my world—and the one who puts up with me spending probably too many late nights at the computer fine-tuning cover designs. Our son Paxton and daughter Natali are full of life, love, and laughter—and growing up way too fast. Around our house, I’m also Paxton’s personal corn dog chef and Natali’s drawing partner. They’re the reason I create: to build opportunities for our family as we journey through life together, and to leave a legacy rooted in hard work, consistency, loyalty, and the courage to follow your dreams.

WHY STUDIO?

“Studio” reflects more than just the work I do personally—it represents the way I approach every project. While I handle the majority of design and creative direction myself, I also help guide the bigger picture when a project calls for more. That might mean connecting you with a trusted audiobook narrator, video producer, editor, or other specialist.

Over time, I’ve built a small network of people I trust and enjoy working with—people I’m confident recommending because my name and reputation are tied to every project. When needed, I help lead that process to make sure everything stays aligned, consistent, and done well. Whether it’s just me or a small team behind the scenes, the goal is the same: create something strong, thoughtful, and positioned to succeed.

A “studio” today isn’t confined to a single location—it’s a flexible, modern approach that allows for collaboration across cities, states, and around the world—bringing together the right people, at the right time, to create the best possible outcome for your book and help your story reach the audience it deserves.
